Mr. Ranjan Kumar Jain an officer of Indian Railway Traffic Service has taken over as the Director (Operations) Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL). Mr. Jain is a B.E. (Electronics & Communications) from University of Roorkee and has completed MBA programme (Advance Diploma). In his career on the Indian Railways, he has immense experience of Infractural and Investment Planning. He has played an active role in conception and detailing of National Rail Vikas Yojana as a major non-budgetary investment initiative of Government of India. He has been instrumental in creation of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. an SPV for implementation of the two major components of NRVY. He has been responsible for development of public-private partnership models. As Secretary of the Railway Expert Group headed by Dr. Rakesh Mohan, He has drafted the reform programme of Indian Railways. He has negotiated for multilateral funding with ADB and World Bank. He has worked as Consultant in ADB’s short TA programme in Sri Lanka for Sri Lankan Railway in May 2001. He helped Sri Lankan Railways examine the relevance of privatization and Public – Private partnership initiatives taken by IR in the context of Sri Lankan perspective. He has immense experience in Railway operations and has worked as Assistant Operating Superintendent, Divisional Operating Superintendent, Sr. Divisional Operation Manager on Delhi Division, Chief Area Manager Bikaner Division of Northern Railway and Dy. Chief Operating Superintendent on Northern Railway. He has participated in various Workshops/Conferences which include workshop on Mass Privatisation Technique in Feb., 1996 at Washington, UNESCAP and World Bank Workshop on Border Crossing & Trade Facilitation for South Asia in Bangkok in April, 1999 – Chaired a Session, European Rail Research Institute & RDSO Workshop on safety in Feb., 1998 in New Delhi. Presented a paper on challenges before IR. Apart from other country level seminars and workshops and presented papers in India and abroad. |
